God in her onway -324

I believe that she thinks that nobody can not help her at all with God. The reason why she think like this because people realy do not understand her. she believes that she do not need God and she will fine GOD in her own way. She believe that one way by staying at home. The part I really do not understand is instead of tolling the Bell, for Church, Our little Sexton-Sings. Then i found out what Sexton means then it made secne with the rest of what she was tying to say.

  1. I agree with this blog post. Emily Dickinson does not believe in the church system in which people need a mediator to connect with God. Dickinson is stating that she is wanting to connect with God and feels that she can be one with him through self meditation. Her thoughts seem to fall on the principles of Ralph Waldo Emerson's transcendentalism and a integration of ideas from quakers. Enlightenment can only be achieved through experience. It cannot be through hearing of another persons experience hearing only means there is a "experience" of another so it does not matter, it has to be the self that witnesses the works of God and believes in him. It is good to hear of other peoples experience and be motivated to strive towards salvation but just dwelling on others is self damnation.
